MISSY ALBIN

BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS | TAYLOR AND LLOYD INC

Missy is one of the most compassionate, determined, motivated, and inspiring people I’ve ever been blessed with meeting. Not only has she been an amazing support person for me and other technicians, but she is always willing to help anyone. She is truly a role model among the female mechanics. Missy goes to great lengths to help anyone with any assistance they need, and even if she doesn’t know or have the answer, she points her colleagues in the direction of someone who can help. A month ago, I was working on an engine rebuild with one of my more experienced technicians and he gave me a task for after he left. I got stuck in the service portal trying to navigate and from many miles away, Missy was quick to jump right in and help me find what I was looking for. Before I decided to take a leap and put in an application for International, Missy saw what I was dealing with in my other shops, and she reached out and gave me support and hope. She has so much spirit, and I am so grateful to have met her when I did.

Based on her manager’s feedback, Missy takes each job to heart and even spends her own time researching and working on complex issues that arise in some of the jobs that they see at Taylor and Lloyd Inc. No matter what task it is, simple or big if Missy gets stuck, she isn’t afraid to pump the brakes and ask questions and continue to fix it. On top of that, they have witnessed how supportive Missy is of other female technicians in the industry. She truly cares.

To prove that female techs across the country get mentorship and support from her, Stepheni Trunk, Service Technician said “Everything about Missy is what being a technician is all about, in my eyes. She has inspired me every day to keep trying and never give up. She has encouraged me to do more of my training on my time off, to explore things I haven’t yet touched on the trucks, to ask questions even when I'm nervous, and to push when it comes to my education. She has taught me to absorb all the knowledge I can even if that just means watching. She is a truly inspiring force in our industry, and everyone should be proud of her for how much she loves what she does. It’s hard to find that nowadays”

Missy is by far the most enthusiastic technician we have seen. Thanks, Missy, for all you do!
Jared

JARED DUMOND

NASHVILLE, TN | CUMBERLAND INTERNATIONAL

Jared has almost 10 years with Cumberland Idealease, committed to completing the best work he can. I have worked with Jared for 8 of those years and have learned a lot from him about Cummins engines, Thermo King reefers, and International trucks. When Jared is asked for help by me or other techs, he doesn't hesitate to help in any way he can. With new techs who are still in school or have just graduated, he will inform them about what tools they need, the extra training that will help them, and ways to complete repairs to reduce downtime for the customer.

Many times I have seen Jared postpone his lunch for a customer needing a repair, not stopping until the customer was back in the truck and ready to drive off the lot. No job is too small for him, even washing and cleaning the inside of rental units and doing PMs.

Jared works the night shift, directing the other techs on the shift on what needs to be completed for the next day. For trucks that come in during 2nd shift, Jared decides what will best work best for the customer/company. Jared has worked past the end of his shift to complete a truck that a customer needs that night or the next morning. The second shift would not be running like a well-oiled engine if it wasn't for Jared's leadership and guidance.

Jared also stays up to date with the industry technology from International, Cummins, and Eaton. He found a recall with Eaton last year before the dealership techs were even aware of it. The dealership was able to start servicing that recall before other locations and before any issues impacted customer trucks. Customers were able to schedule their trucks and avoid unexpected downtime. Because Jared found out about that recall so early, our dealership was paid at a higher warranty rate before Eaton reduced the rate.

A fun fact about Jared: we play EA Sports 24 Pro Clubs together with another friend and we reached rank 761 in the WORLD!
Chris Hart Technician of Influence Winner July

CHRISTOPHER HART

MANASSAS, VA | KINGMOR SUPPLY INC.

Christopher started working on Chevy and personal vehicles at the beginning of his automotive career. He had no knowledge of auto mechanics but was super strong-minded and dedicated to learning as much as possible to help the shop to the best of his ability. Not only did he get the hang of job fast but he also became a master tech! He got the opportunity to switch paths and broaden his automotive knowledge with Kingmor Supply Inc. and made the career jump. Since then, he has dedicated his strong work ethic to becoming the number 1 tech in our shop and has now taken the reins as shop foreman. We are closing more repair orders and seeing many fewer comeback repairs than last year. Christopher not only helps everyone in the shop be the best they can be but also loves to teach and ensure everyone under his leadership is happy and on task.

This March our parts department was struggling to keep up with deliveries and they were staying late to count inventory. Christopher had already stayed late to help finish repairs on buses a customer needed back and after that he helped with the parts inventory. He wanted to make sure that no one had to stay too late and get stressed out.

Christopher has been Master certified through IC Bus and Cummins. In addition to being an amazing technician, he is also a great person and uses his mechanical knowledge and skills to help people. One day he Christopher and I were going to pick up parts at a location farther away than usual when we saw a gentleman stranded in a ditch and struggling to remove a tire. Christopher asked me to pull down to the ditch and asked if the man needed help. Not only did Christopher help him remove his tractor wheel but also helped the man get whatever he needed from the catalog and sent him on his way safely. It's just one of the characteristics of a leader and why we at Kingmor are happy to have him as a part of our team. He not only is the most efficient tech we have now but on top of overseeing the other guys he still manages to close more tickets than the majority of anyone in the company statewide! He has the least amount of comeback back to ever hit our lot and he takes on some of the more difficult repairs.
