SUPPLIER DIVERSITY
In 1981, International created the first supplier diversity program of any U.S. truck manufacturer. Our goal for the program was to build a sustainable supplier base that reflects the diversity of the marketplace and fosters an increased year-over-year diverse spend, cost savings, and a best-in-class mentality that financially strengthens communities where we live and work.
SUPPORT A SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN
International fosters a sustainable supply chain that reflects the diversity of the marketplace, helps us reach new markets, fuels innovation and sharpens our competitive edge. It also supports our commercial and government customers’ expectations to include diverse business enterprises in our supply chain as a Tier 1 supplier.
We draw from the broad expertise of businesses, partners and entrepreneurs whose products and services may not otherwise have access to large corporate purchasing programs; along the way we’re helping to improve economic development and job creation, especially in underserved communities.
We strive for year-over-year increases in diverse spending, meaningful cost savings generated by diverse suppliers, a “best-in-class” mentality, and a strategic approach that financially strengthens the communities where we live, work and provide products.
