DRIVING THE FUTURE OF TRUCKING
Trucking industry technology and maintenance management professionals are the folks who keep commercial vehicles running efficiently. The annual meeting of the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) gathers commercial vehicle transportation leaders from across the industry to meet and discuss technology and tools that can help maximize uptime and fleet performance. That’s why International® Truck was excited to be part of the ATA TMC trucking conference.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity to meet one-on-one with the people whose work day in and day out is to help trucks get the most from every mile. We talked with them about both the challenges they face on the road as well as solutions that can help them boost vehicle uptime.
The enhanced efficiency and improved serviceability of the International® LT® Series truck with the International® S13 Integrated Powertrain was a highlight of the truck exhibition. The revolutionary S13 Integrated Powertrain was designed from the ground up to deliver superior operating economy, simplified maintenance and stellar performance.
TMC attendees saw how the Dual Stage Aftertreatment system takes on all the emissions reduction processes, eliminating the need for an EGR cooler. This simplified design enables a reliable, high-efficiency fixed geometry turbocharger and reduced pumping losses. The added benefits include extended service intervals and the elimination of the need for active regens, which provide a significant advantage to the operator.
The technology and maintenance focus of the TMC trucking conference was the perfect platform to talk about our connected solutions. OnCommand® Connection (OCC) helps take maintenance beyond service bays. OCC turns telematics data into concise, actionable insights to help managers understand the health and performance of fleets and optimize the uptime for every vehicle. Fleet managers can monitor vehicle insights from anywhere, via desktop or the convenience of a mobile phone using the OCC GO app.
International® 360 is our service communication platform that helps accelerate repairs and drive greater uptime. International 360 integrates with customer systems to streamline communications with dealer service centers, allowing customers to self-initiate service requests online, approve service estimates, check repair status and see estimated time of completion.
Leaders from across International Truck hosted events during sessions at the TMC meeting, discussing the latest developments in trucking and best practices for fleets:
- TMC attendees learned about efforts to develop more efficient trucks in the Latest Findings from the US Dept of Energy’s SuperTruck 2 & 3 Programs session hosted by Dean Oppermann, Chief Engineer, Advanced Technologies.
- Shop managers learned critical information about servicing electric vehicle (EV) trucks in the How to Safely and Properly Lift Electric Vehicles session led by Adam Krey, Dealer Development Manager.
- Fleet professionals learned how to navigate evolving regulations in the Regulatory Reporting Standards – How to Access the Data session hosted by Vince Pesch, Director Connected Vehicle Engineering.
BUILDING FOR TOMORROW
