ROOKIES

These tech professionals have less than two years of experience at the dealership, have shown commitment to Uptime by being top producers, have gone the extra mile, and have proven they are responsible and trustworthy.

Brandon Theriault, Fort Kent, ME | Allegiance Trucks
A person standing in front of a door

Service Technician

Service Technician Brandon Theriault has been with Allegiance Trucks for almost two years. During this time, he completed all web-based training courses for International and Cummins, and over 90% of the Allison 1, 2, 3, and 4k transmissions. He also completed all instructor-led training for CV, HVAC, and DLB Levels 2 and 3, allowing him to create custom logic, N13, and A26, and now he is our first tech signed up for the S13 training — all of this in a matter of just under 2 years. The young man is ambitious, dedicated, loving, selfless, and just great for shop morale. He has a Class A CDL driver’s license and attended college for computer science.

He is always willing to help new hires with the electronic side of the industry due to his computer science background, creates customer logic to accommodate customers’ needs, and always thinks outside the box. He is a top producer and has no shop comebacks. He always verifies the complaint, finds the root cause, and always verifies the repair before releasing the vehicle. He never complains about the task he has been given.

Something to highlight in his young career is that before 2 years ago he had very little experience wrenching on trucks before, and because of his computer science education he excels at this profession. These are times when techs are very few and far between, especially a young man who understands electronics. He is a happy, loving individual and is a breath of fresh air. We are very fortunate to have acquired him.

Jose Perez, Arlington, Texas | Southwest International Trucks
A person standing next to a truck

Service Technician

Jose came to Southwest International Trucks as a PM technician with no experience. He has made every effort to learn daily. Jose has advanced from PM technician to a more experienced technician and now performs brake jobs, wheel seals, engine gasket replacements, and clutch replacements. Jose learns from being shown once and makes repairs promptly and correctly the first time. Jose is working on becoming better at electrical diagnostics and repairs and he is not afraid to ask for help or direction.

Jose takes every opportunity to help with any shortage in schedule staffing. He has stepped up and offered to cancel his Saturday plans to make sure that we have a technician available on Saturdays if the scheduled technician has an emergency. Jose has been able to accept responsibility in situations where something was broken or damaged during a repair. The integrity that he displays is difficult to find in newer technicians. Jose has been able to keep our younger technicians safe by pointing out to them when they need to have more safety equipment in place during a repair.

Jose has been tasked with assisting other technicians to complete a job faster than what was foreseen due to the availability of parts. Jose has come in early and stayed late on multiple occasions when he hasn't had to make sure that we get the customer up and going. Jose has never thrown in the towel or refused to take a job as he continues to learn and build on a successful career. Jose has an attitude that shows that he is all about the customer and the company. It would be great to have a shop full of dedicated employees like Jose.

Fred’s career has seen him grow in our shop from an apprentice to a master tech to a Diamond-certified tech to now being one of our most important mentors for young techs. His quantity and quality of work have always been at or near the top of the shop. Fred is passionate about training. He was selected as the mentor of one of the Uptime Academy apprentices, and he took him under his wing to make sure he understood all the new concepts, letting him do all the work while keeping a close eye and providing instructions when needed. Fred won the first Technician of the Year Award from Hill International last year. Fred is a career employee who has exemplified what we are selling to young people today at career fairs.
